Yoga in the Mountains

Diana and Helen invite you to Menla Mountain Retreat House for a wonderful weekend journey into the heart of yoga. We intend to dive joyfully and deeply, exploring asana, pranayama, meditation and the yogic perspective on life. The weekend will include a period of silence to enhance your experience. 

The fee of $850 for the full retreat includes accommodations in lovely standard housing and delicious gourmet vegetarian meals. Linens and towels are provided. 

A 2 night/3 day option is available- either Thursday to Saturday or Friday to Sunday for $650.

The Yoga: A Balanced Practice

This two-hour experience incorporates philosophy, chanting, mudra, asana, pranayama, meditation and Reiki savasana. The krama (sequence) is designed to move our attention from the outer physical body towards attention to subtle body experiencesOur philosophical guide will be the five Koshas. The asana portion will focus on a balance of standing work with floor work. Everyone is welcome. Modifications will be given for newer and more seasoned practitioners. All levels will benefit if one brings oneself wholeheartedly to the experience. 

Carla is honored to offer her teaching to Ocean Bliss community! 

Carla has been teaching the yoga since 2000. Since 2004 she has been a director of Jaya Yoga Center in Brooklyn, where she also co-directs the Jaya's 200 and 300 hour teacher training programs. Additionally, Carla is a Reiki Master/Teacher. She is known for her creative, unique sequences and splashes of humor mixed with no-nonsense yoga philosophy. Vinyasa is a moving yoga flow that generates breath with heat, Yin is a slower practice that will transfer that breath  and heat into a deep, meditation practice. Peaceful Flow & Restore with Helen

This special offering will be a peaceful flow yoga class with restorative poses towards the end. All levels are welcomed for this vinyasa flow.  We will focus on connecting with your breath, moving your body organically from one pose to the next in a peaceful sequence. You will leave more grounded and at ease.  Cost $20.  Must reserve spot.

YIN & Pranayama Workshop with Sarah

Yin yoga is a quiet and simple practice targeting our deepest tissues in the body, connective tissue- ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body rather than the muscles. The poses are held for a long time.  It is a very therapeutic practice, allowing for deep healing in the denser tissues.  Sarah will carefully guide you in a journey of yin poses and teach pranayama (breath work) techniques. This class is open to all levels. $25.  Must pre-register to reserve your spot.

Special Veterans Fundraiser Classes on Nov. 10 at 7:15 and Nov. 11 at 10 am

Come show your support and gratitude to all the men and women who have made so many sacrifices for our great country. Join Helen Kilgallen on Nov. 10th at 7:15 pm and Sarah Arikian on Nov. 11th at 10 am.  A gentle flow, ending with a yoga nidra guided meditation. This is a donation class- 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Veterans Yoga Project to help raise money for programs that support our veterans, families, and communities in all 50 states. If you are unable to attend you may drop off a donation at the studio .
