Radiant Alignment: A Chakra Cleanse Sound Bath

Wed. 7/29 @ 7:00 - 8:30 pm:

This month at Ocean Bliss, we are exploring the theme of Radiance— the light that naturally shines through us when the body softens, the mind quiets, and our energy is no longer blocked or dimmed.

Join Jen for a deeply restorative sound bath designed as a full-body chakra cleanse. We’ll begin with gentle guided relaxation inspired by Yoga Nidra to help the nervous system settle, and the body fully receive. From there, you’ll be guided through each of the seven chakras while immersed in the healing vibrations of crystal bowls, chimes, and other sacred sound instruments.

This practice will include optional gentle toning and seed sounds to help clear and awaken the energy centers, with special attention to the throat chakra— the place of voice, truth, expression, and resonance. When the throat is blocked, our light can feel held back. Through breath, sound, vibration, and stillness, we’ll create space for your inner radiance to move more freely.

Inspired by subtle energy work, sacred geometry, and the body’s natural ability to harmonize, this evening is an invitation to clear what feels heavy, reconnect with your own frequency, and rest in the light of who you truly are.

No experience is necessary. Come as you are, dress comfortably, and allow yourself to receive.

Sun. 8/2 @ 12:15 - 1:30 pm:

Every month this past year, Sunday Sanctuary has brought Reiki peace of mind and body to communities throughout the peninsula. On August 2nd, it comes to Ocean Bliss in Belle Harbor.

Join us and other peace seekers and nature lovers there for the “restorative interlude” described by Dan Guarino of The Rockaway Times as Reiki in Rockaway.

The circle will gather over Jamaica Bay in the airy comfort of Jennifer Kelleher’s aptly named Ocean Bliss studio. We are so happy and honored to participate with Jennifer, the Ocean Bliss community, and its wonderful contribution of wellbeing to Rockaway.

Here are some details of what to expect in Sunday Sanctuary sessions.

An easy flow of:

- Gentle greetings and intentions

- Inspiring theme of the day

- Guided visualization into expansive peace and beauty

- Reiki Healing by practitioners with advanced qualifications

- A natural flow into stillness

Doors open at 12:15 pm. Please enter and leave in silence, allowing the relaxation to steep in your system. The session is typically 60 minutes.

This is a community event that takes place the first Sunday of each month. Donations are accepted and not necessary.

Each of our neighbors brings so much to the circle with their good intentions and reverence for our unique coastal community and the inspiration of the sea.

Come for the peace of your mind and body, and for the wellbeing of our community.

No experience necessary, come as you are.

With love,

Your neighbors Elsie Maio, Dana Humphrey and the Sunday Sanctuary Dream Team

Full Moon Yoga & Meditation Self Care Workshop

Thu. 8/27 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 pm:

Join us under the illuminating Full Moon in Pisces for an evening of gentle movement, calming breathwork, guided meditation, and soulful reflection. As the moon reaches its fullest expression, we're invited to release what no longer serves us, soften into the present moment, and reconnect with our intuition. Together, we'll create space for healing, renewal, and the quiet wisdom that emerges when we surrender to the natural flow of life. We will close with a powerful fire ceremony to release and realign.

Because this Full Moon coincides with a partial lunar eclipse, it offers an especially meaningful opportunity to let go of old patterns, welcome transformation, and move forward with greater clarity and trust.

We will close with a powerful fire ceremony to let go of what no longer serves and make room for new possibilities. Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself and the world around you.

What's Included:

Grounding Slow Flow Yoga (suitable for all levels)

Pranayama (Breathwork) — calming techniques to balance the mind, expand awareness, and soothe the nervous system

Guided Meditation and Journaling Prompts — to reflect, gain clarity, and connect with your intentions moving forward

Full Moon Release Ritual — an opportunity to consciously let go of what no longer aligns with your growth

Fire Ceremony — symbolically releasing old stories, limiting beliefs, and anything you're ready to leave behind.

Come as you are and leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself and the community around you

August 28–30

Join us at Ocean Bliss for a full weekend immersion with Bradshaw Wish, a Chicago-based yoga teacher known for blending intelligent vinyasa, anatomical clarity, humor, philosophy, and a grounded, modern approach to practice.

Bradshaw has over ten years of teaching experience and leads public classes, workshops, teacher trainings, and international retreats. A student of Jason Crandell with a 500-hour certification, his teaching is both educational and approachable, helping students understand their bodies, refine their practice, and reconnect with the deeper purpose of yoga. He is also the host of The Funny Thing About Yoga podcast, where he brings humor and meaningful conversation to the yoga community.

This weekend is designed as one complete experience: movement, inquiry, conversation, philosophy, and deeper study. You’ll practice, ask questions, explore the body with more intelligence, and reflect on how yoga can become more sustainable, supportive, and integrated into your life.

This offering is open to dedicated students, teachers, and practitioners who are ready to deepen their relationship to yoga in a thoughtful, embodied way.

This weekend is sold as a full weekend bundle only. Individual workshop registration is not available.

Weekend Schedule

Friday, August 28

6:30–7:45 pm | Flow Out Loud | All Levels
A welcoming, all-levels vinyasa class to move, breathe, connect, and experience Bradshaw’s teaching style.

This class is less about performance and more about presence— giving you space to settle into your body in a way that feels accessible, intentional, and alive. Expect a thoughtful, well-rounded flow that builds awareness, encourages curiosity, and creates space for both challenge and grounding.

You’ll leave feeling more centered, open, and connected, both physically and mentally.

8:00–8:45 pm | Q&A with Bradshaw | Open Forum
An open, conversational space for students and teachers to ask questions about anything related to yoga.

Topics may include sequencing, anatomy, teaching, personal practice, navigating burnout, yoga philosophy, or building a meaningful career in yoga. This session will be informal, engaging, and shaped by the curiosity of the room.

Saturday, August 29

9:30–11:00 am | Hips: Mobility, Strength & Control | All Levels
A deep dive into how the hips function in yoga practice.

This workshop moves beyond passive stretching and focuses on building strength, control, mobility, and awareness through fuller ranges of motion. Students will learn how to create both stability and freedom in the hips to support a more balanced, resilient practice.

By understanding how the hips interact with the spine, pelvis, and surrounding musculature, movement becomes more intentional, supported, and sustainable.

3:00–4:30 pm | Sustainable Practice: Burnout, Balance & the Yamas + Niyamas | All Levels / Teachers
A space to step back, slow down, and reconnect with the deeper purpose of the practice.

This workshop explores burnout through the lens of both the yoga teacher and student experience, offering practical tools to navigate overwhelm, over-efforting, imbalance, and disconnection. Drawing from the Yamas and Niyamas, Bradshaw will guide students into reflection around how these foundational teachings can support more sustainable habits, both on and off the mat.

Expect a blend of gentle movement, discussion, and reflection. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of balance, intention, and long-term sustainability in your practice, teaching, and life.

Sunday, August 30

9:30–11:30 am | Workshop for Teachers & Advanced Practitioners
A deeper study session designed for yoga teachers and advanced practitioners who want to refine their understanding of practice, teaching, and embodied awareness.

This Sunday morning workshop will offer space for deeper inquiry, education, and conversation around what it means to continue growing as both a student and a guide of yoga. More details to come.
