Together we’ll reflect on the teachings, share perspectives, and explore how these ideas can support our everyday lives.

Release: Fascia Maneuvers and Ebru Painting

Wed. 6/3 @ 6:30 - 8:00 pm: Join Alex for intentional fascia maneuvers designed to release physical tension and unwind stored stress within the body.  Through slow, mindful movement, you’ll create space– physically, mentally, and emotionally– allowing the nervous system to soften and reset.

From there, Fatima will guide you into the ancient art of Ebru– the meditative practice of painting on water.

In this deeply calming and expressive experience, water becomes your canvas and color becomes emotion in motion.  Using natural pigments and traditional handmade brushes crafted from rose stems and horsehair, each design forms organically across the surface, floating and transforming in a way that can never be exactly repeated.

A reflection of presence.  A reflection of release.  A reflection of impermanence.

This experience is both grounding and liberating– an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and create from a place of openness and intuition.

No experience is necessary.  Simply bring an open heart and a willingness to let go.

Sunday sancturay: community reiki circle

Sun. 6/7 @ 12:15 - 1:0 pm: Every month this past year, Sunday Sanctuary has brought Reiki peace of mind and body to communities throughout the peninsula.

On June 7th, it comes to Ocean Bliss in Belle Harbor.

Join us and other peace seekers and nature lovers there for the restorative interlude described by Dan Guarino of The Rockaway Times as Reiki in Rockaway.

The circle will gather over Jamaica Bay in the airy comfort of Jennifer Kelleher’s aptly named Ocean Bliss studio.  We are so happy and honored to participate with Jennifer, the Ocean Bliss community, and its wonderful contribution of wellbeing to Rockaway.

Here are some details of what to expect in Sunday Sanctuary sessions.

An easy flow of:

- Gentle greetings and Intentions

- Inspiring theme of the day

- Guided Visualization into expansive peace and beauty

- Reiki Healing by practitioners with advanced qualifications

- A natural flow into stillness

Doors open at 12:15. Please enter and leave in silence, allowing the relaxation to steep in your system.  The session is typically 60 minutes.

This is a community event that takes place the first Sunday of each month.  Donations are accepted and not necessary.

Each of our neighbors brings so much to the circle with their good intentions and reverence for our unique coastal community and the inspiration of the sea.

Ocean Bliss Summer Solstice Celebration

Thu. 6/18 @ 6:30 - 8:00 pm:

Location: Beach at 142nd Street

Join us for a magical evening on the beach as we welcome the energy of the Summer Solstice– a time of light, expansion, connection, and new beginnings.

We’ll begin by gathering together in community, grounding into the present moment and reflecting on our hopes, dreams, and intentions for the summer ahead through a manifestation ritual.  From there, we’ll move through flowing sun salutations during golden hour and sunset, connecting to the rhythm of nature and the energy of the season before softening into slower yin postures and crystal sound healing beneath the evening sky.

As the bonfire begins to glow, the night will open into music, dancing, connection, refreshments, small bites, raffles, giveaways, and celebration by the ocean.

This is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, increase the light within, connect with beautiful souls in our community, and begin the summer feeling inspired, energized, and aligned.

All are welcome, whether you’re a longtime Ocean Bliss member or joining us for the very first time.

Please bring:

Soulful Sundays: Yoga for Everyday Life

Sun. 6/28 @ 12:00 - 1:15 pm: The Yoga of Communication

Join us the last Sunday of each month for a special offering exploring how the practices of yoga can support us far beyond the mat.  Through philosophy, discussion, breathwork, meditation, gentle movement, and/or reflection, we’ll explore what it means to live yoga in everyday life.

This month, we explore the art of communication.

All day long, we communicate with others and with ourselves, yet many of us still struggle to feel truly heard, understood, and connected.  Yoga teaches us to move through life with awareness, presence, intention, and compassion, but most of us were never taught how to communicate in a way that honors both truth and connection.

Drawing inspiration from the yogic principles of Satya (truthfulness) and Ahimsa (non-harming), along with the work of Marshall Rosenberg and nonviolent communication, we’ll explore how mindful communication can help us navigate difficult conversations, deepen relationships, speak honestly, and listen more openly.

Together, we’ll reflect on how our words shape our inner world, our relationships, and the energy we bring into our lives.

“My words reflect my thoughts, my thoughts reflect my beliefs, and my beliefs – especially the unexamined ones – run my world.”

– Judith Lasater, What We Say Matters

Donation.  Please pre-register.  All are welcome.  No experience necessary.
